Wallis & Futuna

Wallis and Futuna are two small, little-visited French island groups deep in the South Pacific, far off the usual travel routes. Traditional Polynesian kingdoms still hold real cultural weight here, with kings, customary ceremonies, and village life shaping daily rhythms more than any tourist economy. The islands have volcanic craters, coral reefs, and quiet lagoons, but almost no tourism infrastructure — few flights, few hotels, few outside visitors. It's less a destination than a genuinely remote corner of Polynesia that has stayed largely untouched.
