Western Sahara
Western Sahara is a vast stretch of Sahara desert meeting the Atlantic coast, with wide open dunes, rocky plateaus, and long empty beaches near towns like Dakhla and Laayoune. Tourism infrastructure is minimal and travel here requires care and planning, but the region draws a small number of visitors for kitesurfing along the windswept coastline and for the austere beauty of the desert itself. Sahrawi nomadic culture — camel herding, tea rituals, Hassaniya poetry and music — remains part of daily life across the towns and camps of the territory.
